BIOGRAPHY
Dedicated full time to art for vocation with passion, she discovers through her work the social and cultural impact of art. With discipline, she incorporates new tren ds and materials into her work, remaining actively linked to her social environment by connecting her work with various mediums of art and social work.
In the technical and conceptual aspect, she is inclined especially to the magical surrealistic movement. Her style is marked by warm colors, large formats, undulating shapes and glass spheres. Following this same line in most of her work.
With a clear figurative inclination, she works in her ever evolving art work by communicating a playful message full of childhood memories through her marbles and flowers, which aims to transport the spectator to the clean and elemental nature of the colorful children and their toys.
She was born in Medellín, studied History of Art at the School of Fine Arts, and then graduated as a Business Administrator at the San Martin University Foundation, continuing her studies in Painting and Sculpture at the Socrates Academy of Arts and Foundation in Medellin and in The Art Students League of New York.
Her work has been exhibited in Colombia, Peru, Belgium, Ecuador and the United States in more than 32 expositions, and in four opportunities in the Consulate of Colombia in Miami.
Currently, in addition to her artistic activity, she is a cultural manager and co-director of the CONVERSARTE cultural program, where she develops and links all her projects to social causes, with the goal of always positively impacting communities.
She is a member of the Antioquian Journalists Circle and has a space in the radio station called "Radio Cipa Estereo" where the different cultural actors of Medellin are promoted and invited. In there, artists from all kinds have a space to talk about them and show their work integrating them with their cultural and social environment so that they show the best of them, radio of culture.
She is a member of the international group of artists MAI COLOMBIA, where artists from more than 20 countries around the world are showing their work and participating in socio-cultural activities at an international level; In public and private spaces.
She works with the Network of Funeral Artists where they seek to recover the heritage, cultural and artistic value of cemeteries worldwide, and at the same time work on social research of the different nuances, dynamics that are developed in the environment and its solutions, linked to The Ibero-American Project of Art, Memory and Culture of which she is also a member.
During her time at the "Socrates Foundation", founded and directed by Master Julio Londoño, renowned Antioqueño sculptor; she shared workshops with soldiers victims of war and mines, which was a great opportunity to be an actor and observer of how art Rescues the best of each human being.
Member of the international collective "Paisarte" which works with girls victims of violence in the "Home Nazaria Ignacia" foundation of the Santa Elena district where children were given material and art and composition workshops were developed. The girls turn all of this in joy and in beautiful compositions and works that were exhibited in their facilities.
Internationally, she promotes and distributes the work of different national authors in Universities and public libraries in the United States: Spanish Book Fair in West Palm Beach (Florida), Midwestern State University in Wichita Falls Texas, where she participated in reading workshops of authors in Spanish and shared the work of more than 8 authors between poets and writers.
With the Social circle "Tertulia 4 Gatos" in Florida, she helped in introducing the books of Colombian authors to the Orange County Library systems, which now are being read by Hispanic residents throughout the state.
She developed with the Collective of Artists “Pinceladas de Libertad” that works internationally, economic support with the auction of some of her paintings for the construction of the Pavilion of Children's Cardiology of "San Vicente Foundation" Hospital of the Antioqueños, where she also teaches workshops for hospitalized children with the help of her fellow artists, poets and caricaturists.
Three years ago, she actively collaborated by giving up the copy rights of some of her work and supporting the sale of the annual calendar made and marketed by the "Social Transplant Foundation of Colombia" with the purpose of financing its operation and benefiting 248 transplant patients, 178 patients In dialysis and 117 patients under treatment throughout the country.
