BIOGRAPHY
Arq. Gabriel Sánchez Viveros (México 1962)
Gabriel Sánchez Viveros is an architect from the National Autonomous University of Mexico. To date, he has completed 60 projects between architectural design, interior design and application of art in spaces. He worked for 15 years in Saudi Arabia, where be built and completed architectural and interior design proposals in palaces for various clients including the royal family.
Currently and for some years, he has prioritized the development of his career as a visual artist. His work is manifested in several disciplines such as sculpture, art-object, painting, photography, engraving, among others; but what makes his work so particular is that the artist juxtaposes concepts and materials typical of architecture in his pieces.
His artistic work has been shown individually and collectively in Mexico and abroad in various exhibitions, including:
El Origen in the Palacio de la Autonomía, CDMX (2017), Del Boceto a La Vida (2017), Woven Heritage in A4 Gallery, Dubai, EAU (2017), ROT in Bad Hersfeld-Rotenburg, Alemania (2017), La Lotería in the Oscar Román Galerie, CDMX (2017), Entre Líneas in El Palomar del Minotauro (2017), Skyward: The World above us y Flower Power in Los Ángeles, E.U.A. (2012), Máscaras de Aliento in CDMX (2012), Fine Art Contempo CDMX (2013), Falling in Love with Nudes, Barebrush (2013) y Undress & Not, Barebrush (2014) in New York City, Islamic Art Revival Series in Dallas, Texas (2014 y 2015) and in 2015 he was selected in the 2nd José Guadalupe Posada engraving biennial.
In the year 2017 he had the honor of presenting more than 14 solo and 9 collective exhibitions in various national and international spaces. He carried out the individual exhibitions "D-Evolución", “El Origen", and "Primitivo", which have in common the development of an idea that takes the egg as the beginning of creation. The author proposes various reflections on the origin of things, ideas and ourselves.
So far in 2018, Gabriel Sánchez Viveros has exhibited his collection “El Origen” individually, as well as various collective expositions around Mexico and abroad. Among these exhibits are IPAF, Latin American Art Fair, The Postal Palace of Mexico City and CODEME.
Gabriel Sánchez Viveros is currently working on new projects for national and international exhibitions.
